Ponsel ini pertama kali diperkenalkan pada ajang IFA Show, yang digelar di Jerman beberapa waktu lalu. Kini Samsung Galaxy 551 (I5510) ini telah diumumkan secara resmi. Dan, dilihat dari tampilannya terlihat mirip dengan Samsung I5800 Galaxy 3 atau pun kembarannya Galaxy I5801 Apollo.

Galaxy I5510 dipersenjatai dengan prosesor berkecepatan 667 MHz, layar sentuh TFT capacitive 3,2 inci (240x400 piksel). Selain itu, tersedia pula penting fitur lain seperti interface TouchWiz 3.0, teknologi HSDPA 7,2 Mbps, kamera 3 MP autofocus, Wi-Fi, DLNA, radio FM, Social Hub. Ponsel ini pun mendukung file video DivX. Juga, didperkuat memori internal berkapasitas 160MB, slot kartu microSD dan baterai berkapasitas 1200 mAh.
